Profile

Bob Persechini is a Principal of RDK Engineers, one of the region’s leading building systems engineering firms. He is responsible for overseeing much of RDK’s business, production and engineering activities within the Boston office. A native of Boston, Bob hold degrees in Civil/Structural Engineering and HVAC Technology. A mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience in the building industry, Bob has managed and designed HVAC systems for hundreds of commercial, institutional, residential, retail and industrial projects nationally and internationally. Throughout his career, he has played a leadership role in implementing new technologies such as ice storage and underfloor air distribution systems.

Bob has been an active member of ASHRAE since 1982. He was President of the Boston Chapter of ASHRAE during 1989-1990 and Secretary during 1986-1987, and has been involved in numerous committees and activities including serving two terms on the Board of Directors from 1984-1986 and 2002-2005, and as Newsletter Editor from 1982-1983. He has also held positions on a number of chapter and regional committees including regional vice chair of the membership promotion committee from 2003-2006, member, vice chair, and chair of the meetings arrangements committee from 1998-2001, a non voting member of members council in 2001, a member of the course development committee in 2002, chairman of CRC in 2002, chairman of the 1997 Annual Meeting – Boston, and vice chairman of Region 1 – Programs in 1990. Bob has also received numerous awards from ASHRAE in recognition of his many contributions to the organization, among them the Outstanding Member Award, Membership Achievement Award, the Thomas Brown Membership Award, Outstanding Achievement Recognition in Programs, a Presidential Award of Excellence (PAOE), Chapter Service Award, and a Regional Award of Merit.

In addition to his dedication to ASHRAE, Bob is actively involved in giving back to the community. He is a Faculty Lecturer and Instructor at Northeastern University, at which he received an Outstanding Faculty Member Award, is a member of the Faculty Advisory Board at Massasoit Community College in Canton, MA, and has served on the Abington, MA Building Committee.
