Membership Promotion Night

January’s meeting was a Membership Promotion Night. There was a great turnout at the meeting, and we welcomed four new members who attended. We also had 2 people sign up that day – welcome to Julie Rogers and Christine Amero!

The January meeting was also a YEA Night (Young Engineers in AHSRAE). There were 26 YEA’s in attendance – great to see them attend the meetings! As was noted last year, the Boston Chapter continues to see a positive trend where half of the new members who join are YEA. This is very exciting, both for the Boston Chapter and Society overall.

Cancellations

Over the past few months, there appears to be an increase in cancellations by Society due to non-payment. As a reminder, members who are more than 6 months delinquent on their renewal dues are automatically cancelled by Society. For anyone who wishes in the future to become a Life Member, which is a member in good standing for 30+ years, it is imperative that this not be allowed to occur. It’s very important to keep your dues payments up-to-date, as well as your contact information so that you receive the notices from Society.

I would strongly encourage all members to verify their dues are current. For those members who are close to expiring, I will also be sending a reminder e-mail to you in the event you may have missed the notice from Society. If anyone has any questions regarding their membership
