As the 2009 -2010 year winds down, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has assisted on the Membership Promotion Committee, particularly Dan Cooke, Enrique de los Reyes and Stephen Nicholas. Also as this was my first year as the Membership Promotion Chair, I’d like to send a big thank you to Colleen Knight, the Assistant Manager of Membership, at Society and Joe Fuhrman, the Region I Vice- Chair for Membership Promotion. Your input and guidance have been invaluable.

A few items to note for members:

- 2010 Dues Increase - Please note that on July 1, 2010 dues for Members and Associates will increase to $180, and dues for Students will increase to $20. As there are several members who are delinquent on their dues, I would strongly encourage you to go online and renew your dues before the price increase takes effect. Please log onto www.ashrae.org and click on “Renew Membership” on the left hand side. A quick reminder that members who are more than 6 months delinquent on their Society dues will be cancelled.

- ASHRAE Handbooks – The 2010 ASHRAE Handbook – Refrigeration will be sent out in June to members. New members may purchase the 2009 ASHRAE Handbook – Fundamentals at a discount by entering their new member discount code at checkout.

- ASHRAE / CIBSE Reciprocal Membership - ASHRAE members who hold professional engineering designations can now join CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) without undergoing the normal qualifications review. To learn more about CIBSE and their organization, visit their website at www.cibse.org. If you are interested in pursuing the reciprocal membership, please e-mail me at tshannon@dac-hvac.com for more information.
